On Mar. 4, the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Cook County Area, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and the Friends of Reed Bingham partnered to make and decorate butterfly houses in honor of our beloved founding board member, Mrs. Pat Bush.
The groups made a total of 24 butterfly houses for display at “The Pat Bush Butterflies and Bulldog Park” to be planted in Reed Bingham State Park.
Alpha Delta Kappa member, Tabitha Jenkins was the driving force behind this project, bridging connections between the organizations to make the project a reality.
“Mrs. Pat was a member of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, Friends of Reed Bingham, and also instrumental in bringing the Boys and Girls Club to Cook County,” said Jenkins.
Mrs. Pat Bush was inducted into the Alpha Rho Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority in 1987. Pat was President and President Elect of Alpha Rho. She was also Chairman of Albany District, and served on several state committees for Alpha Delta Kappa.
“The butterfly garden is a way for all the clubs to come together and honor Mrs. Pat for the influence she had on different aspects of our county. Our sorority partners with the Boys and Girls Club every year and our members look forward to looking working with the students. The butterfly house project was a way to build a bridge between our community and our sorority.”
