Adel Wesleyan Church made a generous donation of $1,287 to support the Boys & Girls Club during the church's Holy Week services.

Adel Wesleyan Church donated $1,287 to the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Cook County Area. The funds were raised during the church’s Holy Week services.

“You can tell how much you love God by how much you love others. Our church was proud to raise these funds to do our part of contributing to the local mission field,” said Doug Tolson, Pastor at Adel Wesleyan.

Annually, local churches partner with the Boys & Girls Club on BGC Sunday by donation all or a portion of their tithes and offering from Sunday morning service. BGC Sunday is Apr. 21 this year, this coming Sunday, and we encourage our local churches to participate.

Since 2006, the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Cook County area has been a home away from home for more than 1,100 youth in Cook County and surrounding counties.

“The greatest thing [about the Boys & Girls Club] in my opinion, is the way they love on our kids. Jesus tells us that we will be known as followers of His if we love one another,” said Pastor Brian Gay of Greggs Baptist Church.

“Its our job as a church to give back, and what better way to do that than support the kids to be the future leaders in our community one day.”

Your support will help us on our local mission to provide a safe, positive, and fun environment for kids and teens in our area to learn and thrive. Your church’s donation will help us provide safe and supervised after-school care, educational programming and tutoring, leadership and character development opportunities, and most importantly a place where kids and teens can belong and feel supported.

“We are so thankful for the churches that see us as a local mission field, and would not be able to do the things we do for our youth without them. We are beyond thankful and blessed,” said Leigh Sears, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Cook County Area.

Our funding comes from our generous community. We are not funded by Boys & Girls Club corporate or by the government. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue to thrive and make an impact on the lives of our youth. Your donation to the Boys & Girls Club will give hope and opportunity to our members.
